An Introduction to an Outward Mindset
03. Diagnosing the Drama
The people we interact with can sense how we see them. When we see and treat others as objects, we invite them to resist us. Ironically, we end up provoking their mistreatment of us in order to justify our mistreatment of them. We call this destructive pattern “collusion.” The personal and organizational consequences and costs of collusion are immense.
The False Choice
Likely the most common red flag of the inward mindset, is that of the false choice. When we see others as objects, our options for responding to different challenges are limited and we feel stuck.
